Panagbenga Festival 2018 is the annual traditional festival of flowers. It held every year in February in Baguio. The term Baguio belongs to Kankanaey which means “Season of blooming.” This festival is especially celebrated upon arrival of spring. It was celebrated to pay tribute to the city flowers. Another major reason for this festival celebration is to remind the devastation to take place due to the Luzon earthquake in 1997. The specialty of this event is that it includes the floats which are covered with special kind of flowers usually Pasadena’s’ Rose Parade. This festival is celebrated with great excitement and enthusiasm. People perform dace on this festival in the clad of flowers. They truly follow their traditional style which includes Ibalio dace celebration. On this day people wear clothes inspired by flowers. Panagbenga especially boosts the rate of tourism.
On this day, people also revive the customs traditions. On this festival, Panagbenga parade take place. This is a most beautiful activity performed during this very day. Parade and Street Dancing competition
It held on 4th Saturday of February same venue as that of opening parade
Grand Float Parade
It held on 4th Saturday of February. This Parade starts with the shower of rose petals along the road. The marching bands perform the lively music. The dancer performs the custom dance.
